一座長15米、高4.3米、寬9米趴伏在地、恬然入睡的巨型嬰兒雕塑《大地之子》在甘肅省瓜州縣紅山坡戈壁灘上落成。成為一處壯觀的沙漠景觀。
由清華大學美術學院雕塑系主任董書兵教授創作。通過對當下全球大型雕塑的梳理和研究，對目前國內可運用的大型雕塑創作材料進行應用嘗試後，選定以紅砂岩為主要材質，利用三維掃描獲取模型數據，再分塊進行3D雕刻，最後逐塊雕砌安裝成型的大型戶外主題雕塑作品。
